Festival Identity, Poster Design +
Imagine a Cult Film Festival of your choice. The Festival lasts for just one week, showing five or seven films, one each evening. Imagine that the films have been chosen around a particular cult theme, of which there are plenty.
Based on your own research, you must arrive at your own definition of a cult film, and identify five or seven films which support this definition.
For this Project I concentrated on the genre of British Gangster Films. From this I was able to create an identity for my film festival along with Poster designs, Ticket designs, Website Concept and Television Advert.
The films I chose to use were:
Poster Design: Screen Printing_
After Creating the name "Corrupted Cockneys," for my festival as I believed this name caputered a perfect representation of the films I had chosen I looked into possible venues. I decided to go with the York Hall in London as it felt the right type of venue to hold this style of film festival. After choosing a Boxing Hall as the venue I decided to look into a old fashion boxing posters and used this style in creating my own. To develop the look I decided the best way would be to Screen Print my final Posters.
Ticket Design: Screen Pinting_
As I had already come up with a style for the film festival I decided to transfer the same style to the tickets and I deiced to screen print them also.
Using such an anolog method of printing, I found it a problem when moving it to the screen. I decided when designing the websited I decided to continue with the poster style giving the Impressed that it was plastered onto a wall. These were the final designs, along with the design links to the films information consisting of famous quotes from the chosen films.
Using my skills in Adobe After Effects and Final Cut pro I decided to go onto create a video advert that would tease the upcoming film festival. Similar to the website when it came to creating an avert that compliments the analog style I decided to concentrate on making the text animate in as if the ink is bleeding through that poster.
